Fees for Court Records in Clark County

Criminal Records Access in Clark County
Criminal records at the county level are maintained by the Clark County Clerk of the Court's Office. Note that records obtained at the clerk's office are limited to case-related information and can not be used for official criminal background checks. Criminal case records are available for a fee at the clerk's office. Records may also be obtained online or via mail.
Official criminal background checks are conducted by the Indiana State Police. Limited criminal history checks can be performed online using a record subject's name, gender, date of birth, and race. Criminal history information is maintained at the county level by the county sheriff's office.
Clark County Probate Records
In Clark County, probate cases, such as conservatorships, estate cases, trusts, and guardianships, are handled by the Circuit Court No. 1. Records arising from these cases are maintained by the court clerk and are presumed to be public. However, certain probate cases are sensitive, e.g., guardianship of minors and mental health proceedings. As such, associated records are non-public.
